Warren Buffett thinks Tim Cook is the “classiest CEO around
“Tim Cook is one of the classiest CEOs and he understands the business,” Buffett said. “He has a product, which Steve Jobs basically invented, but Tim Cook has managed that company in an extraordinary way.”
Warren Buffett and his company Berkshire Hathaway are one of the biggest shareholders in Apple. Clearly, Buffett believes in Apple and has now come out with words of praise for CEO Tim Cook. In an interview with CNBC, Buffett spoke about how Cook is the “classiest CEO” around.
He also spoke about the “incredible” value of the iPhone. “If you’re an Apple user and somebody offers you $10,000, but the only proviso is they’ll take away your iPhone and you’ll never be able to buy another, you’re not going to take it.”
Berkshire Hathaway is Apple’s fifth largest shareholder. In the past, Cook has spoken about how he reacted when he found out Buffett had just started investing in Apple.
“Oh, this is really cool. Warren Buffett is investing in Apple,” Cook said about Buffett’s investment in Apple in an earlier interview. “You know, we welcome all shareholders, but we run the company for the long term. And so the fact that we’ve got the ultimate long-term investor in the stock is incredible because our interests are aligned,” he added.
The 92-year-old investor has, in the past, spoken about using a Samsung flip phone and how Cook keeps sending him reminders about using an iPhone.
