Panera Brands names new CEO

Dueñas, who currently serves as the President and CEO of Einstein Bros. Bagels, will replace Niren Chaudhary, who will become the company's chairman at that time.

Dueñas brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having held leadership positions at renowned companies such as Sonic Drive-In and Darden Restaurants. His appointment comes as Panera Brands prepares to offer its shares on the public market once again.

“I’m truly honoured to have the opportunity to lead the phenomenal group of people at Panera Brands and be part of what is undoubtedly one of the most iconic brands in food. I believe that with this incredibly dedicated team and our great franchisee partners we can continue to deliver a best-in-class guest experience, increase our positive impact in the communities we serve and accelerate key growth-driving initiatives to prepare the company for a future public listing,” said Dueñas.

In addition to Dueñas' appointment, the company has also welcomed Patrick Grismer, Starbucks' former CFO, to its audit committee. Grismer joined the company's board in 2022.

These changes to Panera Brands' leadership team demonstrate the company's commitment to growth and innovation. With Dueñas at the helm, we can expect to see the company continue to expand its portfolio of brands and deliver exceptional dining experiences to its customers.
